A native of Washington,D.C., Dr. Charley Varipapa is a 1984 Graduate of University of Maryland Dental School. He has served as faculty member from 1986 as well. Dr Varipapa received the Margaret Toomey award of Excellence for dedication to the School and the profession given by the faculty, The most Outstanding Member of the Class given by the student body, Gamma Phi Delta Honor Society and The Deans and Governors Scholarships for scholastic ability. • Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Studies - This is the premier training center for advanced esthetic and restorative dental training in the country.
• The L.D. Pankey Institute, is the first and oldest post-graduate program in advanced restorative dentistry and occlusion in the world.
• The Dawson Centerfor Advanced Studies, the premier post-graduate academy for study of the occlusion, function, the neuromuscular system and the bite
• Dr Varipapa is the only Dentist in Metropolitan Washington to havecompletedpost-graduate studies at all three of these institutes
• The Las Vegas Institute- Dr.Varipapa attends the Las Vegas Institute, the premier cosmetic dental post-graduate institute in the world.
• The MAP Implant Institute, run by Dr Michael A Pikos this Institute teaches restorative dentists along with Implantologists techniques and protocols for advanced implant restoration.

Dr Varipapa has taught at the University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore,Maryland. Doctor Varipapa has taught in the Department of Oral Diagnosis and Treatment Planning.

He is the founder and former president of the Patuxent Dental Society and the Bob Barkley Study Club. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1984.

Dr. Varipapa trains dentists nationally on listening and communication, and dental practice management. He has been involved mentoring dental students and new dentists for over 15 years. Dr. Varipapa is a member of the American Dental Association, The Virginia Dental Society, The California Dental Society, and the Northern Virginia Dental Society where he serves on the patient relations and peer review board. He is currently the Program Chair of the Northern Virginia Dental Society and the Alexandria Dental Society.

Additionally Dr. Varipapa is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and is licensed in Virginia,Maryland and California.

Charley resides in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia and enjoys cooking, the arts, traveling and relationships he has forged with people through the course of his life. He enjoys restoration of historic building and has receive awards for to historic restoration of the Smithville Meeting house in Dunkirk, Calvert County Maryland from the Maryland Historical Society. He received an award for the restoration of a turn of the century beach cottage in Chesapeake Beach,Maryland. He has restored two historic homes in Baltimores Federal Hill neighborhood and most recently his 100+ year old office town home in Old Town Alexandria. HE recently was certified in Interior Design and did the design work for his and numerous other dental offices. He loves his work and the people he meets everyday.
