Dental Implants
Cosmetic Dentistry Serving Alexandria, Arlington, Virginia, and Surrounding Areas in Northern Virginia
Now you do not have to go through life with missing teeth or even bridges (the procedure in which perfectly good teeth are ground down to replace a missing tooth).
dental implants are one of the most exciting innovations in dentistry today and can be used to replace both single and multiple teeth.
What are Implants?
dental implants are artificial roots that teeth can be attached to. The implant is situated in place of the missing tooth and is made to match the adjacent teeth. These restorations can be undetectable from natural teeth and restorations we are accustomed to.
We also use implants to retain dentures and, in their most sophisticated use, to do full mouth rehabilitation and eliminate removable dentures.
Dr. Varipapa has done a multitude of these cases and, because of his advanced training, can offer you multiple levels of care using dental implants to restore your mouth. Dr. Varipapa is a graduate of the MAP Implant Institute in Tampa, Florida. He studies restoration of dental implants there and continues his studies with Nobel Biocare USA. He is both placing and restoring dental implants at the Center for Esthetic Dentistry in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.
dental implants are made of titanium metal and are coated with a bone-like material called hydroxyl apatite. When placed in the jawbone, the body's natural bone attaches to this bone-like coating, it is this fusion that allows the implant to work like a natural tooth.
Now with the use of even more sophisticated porcelains and advanced training, single and multiple tooth implants can look as esthetic as natural teeth. The placement of implants and these restorations can seem simple and very comfortable. Patients in our practice may choose sedation dentistry for most of their dental procedures.
Dr. Varipapa believes that it is important to have a private consultation with you to review cases that have been restored using implants. Privacy, caring listening and understanding your needs are other "specialties" that we take pride in at our office.
We will take time to listen to you and help you chart a course of total dental health that fits within the constraints of your budget of time, money and comfort.
